AboutThe 3 Rivers Chorale was founded by singers who had a desire to sing challenging and beautiful choral music in 2004. Our founding director, Dave Marston, loved Renaissance music and the group began with our emphasis on early sacred and secular musical composers. Sadly, Dave passed away in June of 2009. We will always treasure the years we spent under his direction and appreciative of all we learned from him. The Chorale began with 22 singers and now are membership is nearly 40. The chorale is self-supporting and the $55 tuition covers payment of the director, accompanist, instrumentalists, hall rentals, publicity, music and a practice CD. We will rehearse Thursday evenings at the Center for Spiritual Living at 466 “I” Street in Grants Pass. This Fall the Chorale welcomed Kate Campbell as our interim director and in January the choir unanimously voted to have her become our permanent director. Kate is a piano teacher and is musical director at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grants Pass. She has extensive background as a choral conductor, a pianist as well as a composer and music arranger. We performed several of her arrangements at our winter concert. Kate possesses a sense of musical spontaneity and has the ability create a new arrangement of a song on the spot during a rehearsal. Several pieces from our winter concert can be seen and heard on youtube. Enter “3 Rivers Chorale, Grants Pass, Oregon” to view them. If you are interested in joining our musical family phone 541-476-6243 or email info@3riverschorale.com. Our spring session will begin February 4 with spring concerts set for May 22 and 23. Auditions will be held on February 4 and again on February 11. |
